hello, I’M DAVID
After more than 20 years working across global mobility, relocation, international operations, complex projects and service delivery, I’ve been brave and decided to work for myself (and for you!) :)
The idea behind the business is simple: growing organisations often face complicated operational problems, but they do not always need another permanent hire or the machinery of a huge consultancy.
Sometimes they just need somebody experienced to come in, understand what is going on, work out what needs to happen and get things moving.
That might mean supporting an international hire, reviewing a relocation programme, entering a new market, building a supplier network, fixing a service that is not working or taking ownership of a project with too many moving parts.
Over the years, I’ve worked across EMEA, the Americas and APAC, led international teams and operations, built global supplier networks, supported hundreds of employee relocations, helped establish offshore operations and delivered large, complex transformation projects.
The common thread has always been the same: solve the problem, bring the right people together and deliver.
That is what this consultancy is built around.
I also believe good solutions do not come from pretending one person or one company can do everything. I work with a network of trusted specialists across areas including relocation, immigration, tax, HR, property, global employment and other people services, bringing in the right expertise when it is needed.
This blog will be a place for practical thoughts on global mobility, relocation, international expansion, project delivery, service improvement and operations, alongside some broader reflections on work, leadership and building things.
There may even be the occasional lesson from another big part of my life: theatre. Running productions turns out to teach you quite a lot about people, budgets, deadlines, problem-solving and getting everyone to opening night.
